    • Annotation of the Higher Education Institution The Master's course is characterised by its inter-disciplinary character due to the involvement of the disciplines of Sociology, History, Linguistics, Educational Science, Geography, Political Science, Psychology, Law and Religious Studies and is fundamentally relevant for graduates of a Bachelor's degree course covering this and related subjects.The focus of the course of study, which is comprised of six modules, is on the teaching of scientific and practical skills in the fields of migration and integration in history and the present day, inter-cultural and inter-ethnic relations and socio-spatial development and multilingualism. Components are a work placement of at least four weeks, a one-day excursion as well as a research discussion group. Stays abroad are possible as part of various exchange programmes due to the existing cooperations with universities in Portugal, Italy, Sweden, Spain and Switzerland, amongst others.The Master's degree opens up the opportunity to do a doctorate and, with the appropriate course planning/fulfilment of the relevant requirements, admission to any possible doctorate\; at the Universität Osnabrück therefore admission to the PhD programme in Migration Research and Intercultural Studies.The degree qualifies students for a broad range of employment, e.g. in political organisations, in national and international charities, human rights and aid organisations, foundations, companies, trade unions.
