Higher education entrance qualifications

If you wish to study at a higher education institution in Germany, you must prove that your educational background or professional qualifications entitle you to do so – i.e. you have the necessary entrance qualifications. Your citizenship is also an important factor here because it is usually easier to provide evidence of German higher education entrance qualifications than evidence of foreign entrance qualifications that are accepted in Germany and allow entry to higher education. If you do not have academic entrance qualifications but would still like to study without an Abitur, entry may be possible based on the regulations for applicants with professional qualifications.
