- Target group The degree course is aimed at people with a first professionally qualifying certificate of academic degree in degree programmes in the field of Linguistics, equivalent to a Bachelor's degree amounting to 180 credits and subject-related studies at a university or equivalent higher education institution in Germany or abroad.

Access and Admission Requirements

- Admission semester summer and winter semester
- A prerequisite is proof of academic achievement in the field of Indo-Germanic Studies, Germanic Linguistics or Linguistics as well as basic knowledge of historical linguistics. The final grade of the course should not be lower than 3.0. Furthermore, the proof of the Latinum and Graecum is required. The latter can be acquired during the degree course until the registration of the Master's thesis. Command of one or more modern foreign languages is desirable.
  International applicants must provide proof of German language proficiency at the level of the DSH examination (min. level 2), the TestDaF (TDN 4x4) or a recognised equivalent.
