- Target group The degree course is aimed at people with a first professionally qualifying certificate of academic degree in degree programmes in the field of Latin or Greek studies, Middle and Neo-Latin or subject-related study programmes and equivalent to a Bachelor's degree amounting to 180 credits at a university or equivalent higher education institution in Germany or abroad.

- The subject-related prerequisite is proof of academic achievement in Latin Studies, Greek Studies, Medieval and Modern Latin, Ancient History, or Classical Archaeology amounting to at least 60 credit points, a final grade of at least "good" or better, as well as the Latinum and Graecum. Command of at least one modern foreign language at level B2 is also required:
  International applicants must provide proof of German language proficiency at the level of the DSH examination (min. level 2), the TestDaF (TDN 4x4) or a recognised equivalent.
