    • Annotation of the Higher Education Institution With the Bachelor’s degree course in Medical Education, students with a first professionally qualifying academic degree can qualify as a practical teacher at vocational schools and as a practical instructor in training for health professions.
In addition to basic academic training for students, the aim of the Bachelor's programme is to impart knowledge about current research topics with a focus on medical education (e.g. in the areas of educational sciences, medical and natural sciences, educational and medical management) and the ability to critically assess them.
With regard to extensive teacher training according to KMK standards, the Bachelor's degree represents the first phase of the study, which can be followed up with the Master's degree in Medical Education (M.Ed.). The conception of the course enables access to the public school system (preparatory service / legal traineeship) after completion of the consecutively following master's program in Medical Education (M.Ed.). In the part-time model, the courses take place on a total of five block weekends (Thursday through Monday) per semester. As a rule, the students continue their professional activity during their studies at 50 percent.
