    • Annotation of the Higher Education Institution In the International Engineering Bachelor (INB) programme, you will build a strong foundation in engineering and choose one of four specialisations: General Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering.

You can expect classes with a lot of practical activity, state-of-the-art laboratories, individual support, small teaching groups, close contact with local industrial partners, interesting content and future-oriented projects in challenging environments.

On completion of the programme, you will be very well prepared for the job market and will be able to work as an engineer in important technical areas of the future. Both salary and career prospects are good.

Benefits for international students: As the programme starts in English, many international applicants who do not have good German skills can start their engineering studies on this programme. In the 6th semester there is a choice to continue in English or to switch to German.

German training is a vital component of the curriculum, not just during but also between the semesters in the form of three-week intensive courses. A two-week intensive language and culture programme directly before the start of the first semester provides a valuable start to learning German and helps new international students settle in. German language skills are not mandatory for admission. German level A2 is recommended for a good start in Germany.

      Application

The application portal opens in October 2025 for the summer semester 2026. If you have any questions please contact: apply.inb@hs-mannheim.de.

Due to the multitude of applications TH Mannheim receives each year, and as the number of students to be admitted is restricted, applicants should have a very good school-leaving certificate or university transcript. The Admissions Committee focuses on your grades in Maths and Physics.

International students need to be at least 18 years old when enrolling with TH Mannheim at the beginning of March.

      Housing application

TH Mannheim highly recommends that you apply for student accommodation with Studierendenwerk Mannheim when applying for a study place. Online application for student accommodation can be done as early as 6 months before the start of the summer semester. You can apply with Studierendenwerk Mannheim before having received admission for INB yet.

      Visa application

The procedure for applying for a study visa for Germany may vary slightly from country to country. TH Mannheim strongly recommends checking with the German embassy or consulate in your country for up-to-date details relevant to your specific case.
