Learning and well-being in one place

Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) is one of the innovative pioneers in the Bavarian higher education landscape. With teaching and research sites in a total of 16 towns and municipalities across Bavaria, DIT is a leading example of the concept of regionalised research. The business sector and local authorities are close partners of the university. As a result, DIT graduates are in high demand as young professionals.

At DIT, you can choose from nearly 100 Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes across three campuses. The range spans Engineering, Construction & Environment Engineering, Informatics, Economics, Design & Media, Health, and Sport & Social Sciences. This includes many programmes taught in English. The DIT currently has students from over 120 countries, which contributes to the international atmosphere on campus. If you’d like to gain experience abroad during your studies, the DIT’s network offers you a choice of 220 partner universities in nearly 60 countries.

    Research

The academic profile of Deggendorf Institute of Technology is shaped by four interdisciplinary research priorities: ‘Digital Technologies’, ‘Sustainable Production & Energy Technologies’, ‘Smart Materials’ and ‘Quality of Life & Healthcare’.

Our researchers at DIT offer solution-oriented research for regional businesses throughout Bavaria as well as for international partners in the clusters of Digital Technologies, Future Mobility, Sustainable Energy, Materials of the Future, Production and Automation, Health Research, and Sustainability, Construction and Environmental Engineering. In doing so, they form a bridge between science, industry and society. The DIT currently has 16 research institutes. That is more than any other Bavarian university. Everything comes together at the Centre for Applied Research under the leadership of the Vice-President for Research and Transfer.

The three campuses in Deggendorf, Pfarrkirchen and Cham provide ideal learning environments, equipped with modern facilities and tailored support services. Many of the degree programmes in business, engineering, tourism, computer science and health sciences are taught entirely in English.

The university town of Deggendorf offers short distances between the campus, town centre and halls of residence, moderate housing and living costs, university sports facilities and a wide range of cultural activities. The proximity of all campuses to the beautiful natural surroundings of the Bavarian Forest and the Rottal valley provides numerous additional leisure opportunities.
