    Jewish Studies

  • Field of study
    • Target group As a humanities subject, Jewish Studies involves reflection on the basic cultural principles of society on a large as well as on a small scale. The aim of a humanities scholar is mainly to understand, to explain and finally to mediate: between groups, individuals and society. These processes require a precise methodical foundation and progressive critical observation with competence in the basic principles, a sense for detail and a view of the whole issue in its individuality and in context. As a European centre of competence in this area, the Hochschule für Jüdische Studien (HfJS) offers opportunities for in-depth study and comprehension not available elsewhere, and is therefore particularly attractive for students wishing to gain a Master in Jewish Studies.
