  • Field of study
    • Target group The aim of the Master's degree is to integrate empirical, theoretical and practical didactic aspects so closely that students are excellently prepared for future employment, using both academic essays and targeted language training. The course is cross-cultural and interdisciplinary and aims to educate students on the various tasks involved in teaching foreign languages in the field of Adult Education (as foreign language teachers, further education etc.) as well as on culture in Germany and internationally. Besides acquiring the relevant specialist knowledge, this includes the ability to conduct independent empirical investigations and develop practice-oriented tasks. Last but not least, students will acquire sound intercultural skills.

    • Annotation of the Higher Education Institution If the Bachelor degree certificate is not available by the application deadline, but at least 135 credit points can be proven: Submit a certificate of study and examinations and the average grade achieved so far. (This certificate must be issued by the relevant higher education institution, original or officially authenticated copy). After enrolment, the diploma must be submitted.

    • Bachelor's degree in a modern philology course, in the subject Business Education with a specialisation in German or in a Cultural Studies or Educational Sciences degree course with an intercultural focus (at least 30 CP or 12 semester periods per week) or a degree from a university in Germany or abroad that does not differ significantly from the aforementioned courses.

      Evidence of linguistic proficiency (basics) amounting to 4 semester periods per week or at least 6 credit points and evidence of graded achievements (if not already confirmed as part of the course).

      Sufficient proficiency in English (corresponding to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference). In addition, basic knowledge is expected in at least one other language (corresponding to level B1 of the CERF).

      Aptitude interview of generally 15 minutes, at least 10 minutes.
