The three-semester Master’s programme in Civil Engineering at Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences offers you in-depth specialist knowledge and the opportunity to tailor your studies to your individual interests. You choose between the two areas of specialisation "Structural Civil Engineering" and "Construction Project Management".
Regardless of the chosen specialisation, all students complete the interdisciplinary modules "Digital Planning and Building" as well as an interdisciplinary practical project in which real projects are worked on in small groups. The focus is on cooperation between the disciplines.

      What will you learn?
In the area of specialisation, structural civil engineering, you will acquire in-depth knowledge of structural design with a focus on steel and solid construction, bridge construction, geoengineering and the application of numerical simulation methods.

The area of specialisation Construction Project Management prepares you for the successful planning, control and implementation of complex construction projects – with a special focus on technical, business and legal aspects along the entire process chain of construction and operation.

In addition, all students acquire well-founded skills in the field of digital planning – especially in forward-looking methods such as Building Information Modelling (BIM).
There is also the option of choosing individual areas of specialisation in fields such as building materials science, sustainable facility engineering, fire protection or flood risk management.
