    • Annotation of the Higher Education Institution The Master's programme is completed after four semesters of standard period of study with the academic degree "Master of Science" (MSc). It is aimed at candidates who have already earned a first professionally qualifying certificate of academic degree in civil engineering or in the field of another engineering science or applied science and who wish to further develop their professional and methodological competence in the field of building materials and renovation. Our graduates are qualified for demanding engineering activities in senior positions in testing, research and development tasks of existing and new buildings. The intensively supervised and practice-oriented course of study enables you, as a building materials engineer, to work in an interface position in companies, institutes and planning offices, actively promoting forward-looking solutions for resource-saving and sustainable construction.

    The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s broad spectrum encompasses around 40 degree programmes and courses of study, ranging from fine art to design, visual communication, media design, media science, media informatics, architecture, civil engineering, engineering and the environment, and management. In every scientific or academic field, as in artistic development, practical relevance plays a vital role. Project-oriented work encourages personal development and in combination with excellent research and coursework ensures outstanding future prospects.

    Research at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is diverse, international and interdisciplinary. In addition to the research concentrations "Digital Engineering" and "Cultural Scientific Media Research" there are other fields of research, such as "City, Architecture and Environment," "Material and Construction" and "Art.Design.Science." In every branch of research, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar supports young scholars in a variety of ways. Structured doctoral programmes offer intensive advising, while teamwork, the curriculum and practical relevance set the conditions for successful completion of a Ph.D.
