    • Annotation of the Higher Education Institution The degree course "Methods and Materials for User-Oriented Building Renovation" is a university continuing education programme for architects, civil engineers, building materials engineers and related professional groups with the aim of training renovation planners who are able to take a holistic view of a renovation task or a construction task in existing buildings, plan appropriate measures and manage or monitor their execution.

      The continuing education degree course is designed as a blended learning course. It combines the advantages of traditional face-to-face instruction with those of online learning. On the one hand, it offers the flexibility, geographical independence and effectiveness of media-based forms of learning. On the other hand, however, the social aspects of getting to know one another personally and learning together are not neglected.

      The didactic variety of methods used in the programme offers a high degree of variety, while at the same time allowing a great deal of freedom in terms of personal time management.

    • You can apply for a place in the Masters degree course with a total of 60 credit points or 90 credit points. If your first university degree does not have the required ECTS credits (240 or 210 credit points), you may still be admitted by crediting your professional experience. Accordingly, the standard period of study is 4 or 6 semesters (depending on the admission requirements).

In addition to the research concentrations "Digital Engineering" and "Cultural Scientific Media Research" there are other fields of research, such as "City, Architecture and Environment," "Material and Construction" and "Art.Design.Science." In every branch of research, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar supports young scholars in a variety of ways. Structured doctoral programmes offer intensive advising, while teamwork, the curriculum and practical relevance set the conditions for successful completion of a Ph.D.
