Biology is the scientific discipline that studies life. At the Faculty of Biology, this widely variable subject can be studied across a broad range: Cellular and molecular biology, genomic research, neurobiology to behavioural research, evolution and ecology are areas offering specialisations. Faculty working groups work in pioneering interdisciplinary fields such as biomedicine, bioinformatics and biotechnology.
Students come into contact with current research issues and methods at an early stage and can increasingly participate independently in research projects. Practical laboratory components are firmly integrated into the course of study and the courses throughout the degree programme.
