In the major subject North American Studies, you receive intensive literary and cultural studies as well as practical language training in the field of American and Canadian Studies. Use literary text and media analysis and approaches of cultural theory to understand the interplay between literature, culture, history and medicine and to develop a critical view of contemporary North American cultural-political developments such as populism, ethnic and cultural diversity or matters of gender politics. In addition, you will improve your English language skills.
