In the four-semester minor subject "Languages of the Near and Middle East" you can acquire basic language skills in the modern, spoken languages of the Near and Middle East: Arabic, Persian or Turkish. You can complement this language proficiency with specialist modules that introduce you to the diversity of this region and give you insights into a wide range of areas such as history, culture(s), societies, languages, religions, politics and economics. After completing the sub-course, you will be able to master the language and read and understand easy to moderately difficult texts, follow easy to moderately difficult conversations and express yourself well.
