    Scandinavian Studies

  • Areas of Concentration Languages of Northern Europe and the Baltic States (Scandinavian, Finnish, Finno-Ugrian, Baltic), Linguistic competency in international and lesser used languages, Multilingualism, Nordic and Baltic Sociolinguistics
  • Field of study
    • Target group The international Master's programme is aimed at people with a first degree (usually a Bachelor's degree) in a linguistic or philological subject area. In addition to an academic career, a wide range of employment opportunities in the private and public sector are open to graduates of the Master's programme e.g. in administration as a consultant for issues relating to multi-lingualism, in the communications sector or - with additional qualifications - in fields such as political journalism and language-related tasks in the EU.

      After enrolment, the diploma must be submitted.

    • 1. Degree: 1. Proof of a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent degree in the humanities or social sciences from a university in Germany or abroad. The degree must have been recognised as granting access to the Master's course by all partner universities.
      2.The degree course must have a linguistic or philological component of at least 30 CP.
      2.Proof of language proficiency:
      Proof must be provided of very good active English proficiency at level B2 of the European Framework of Reference. Proof can be provided by the Cambridge First Certificate in English, telc English B2, LCCI Level 2, TOEFL iBT 87 points or IELTS Grade 5-6.
