  • Field of study
    • Target group The course teaches in-depth and scientific professionally qualifying knowledge of the concepts of Early Intervention and their subject-related and ethical viewpoints. In accordance with international academic findings from the USA in particular (Dunst, Snyder, Mahoney, Guralnick) and contrary to the current trend in German Early Intervention, the focus is not on the promotion of the child, but rather defined in terms of the family-orientated approach which is legally given with a special focus on the environment and the development of a supporting overall environment. The course therefore explicitly includes a qualification in Methods of Counselling, Research and Quality Management. Graduates will be able to interpret and critically analyse the structures, processes and trends in the various fields and activities of Early Intervention from a systemic perspective, improve the quality of previous work through the integration of systemic concepts and methods, improve their personal competencies and manage necessary change processes. Graduates of the Master's course Transdisciplinary Early Intervention are characterised by comprehensive qualification on a professional, social and personal level. They are able to apply and reflect on the systemic approach – and the methods and techniques derived from this – in different professional fields and to diverse target groups. Furthermore, graduates of the course have the ability to incorporate broad, diverse subject approaches and classify them in the corresponding structural contexts of their discipline, to interpret them, to examine them critically as well as to develop their own ideas (practitioners who reflect scientifically and critically). They are able to deal with new situations adequately, to analyse complex problems hierarchically (priority-based problem analysis), to solve them individually and in a case-related manner as part of a dialogue with the cooperating structures and to make safe decisions for preferably sustainable effects. The students develop a professional identity as an early intervention specialist against the background of a transdisciplinary specialisation of studies and the further development of professional-theoretical concepts and up-to-date educational and social help systems. You will learn to take on responsibility in the fields of extended Early Intervention for complex specialist activities and to legitimise these to the client, colleagues, institutions and the relevant social bodies. The students also possess didactic skills, through which they pass on their specialist knowledge to other specialists within the fields of employment or in the form of continuing education. The Master's graduates should also be able to act as "multipliers" of modern specialist content on a scientific basis.
